Welcome to the Forensic Linguistics Institute. We have been on the web since 1996. Here you will find a wide range of information on Forensic Linguistics, from courses in the subject, to its history, from how it works as a science to how police and other law enforcement agencies employ forensic linguists in crime detection, and on how Forensic Linguistics works in the justice system. Like other experts our evidence is used to assist defence as well as prosecution, and Forensic Linguistics has a long tradition in overturning miscarriages of justice, aside from its high profile successes in murder and other major criminal trials.
